The hot side looks like I can cut the hole where the bottom left light mount is and hug the pipe around under the arch where my fingers are pointing.

I'm confident it will be away from the tyre on full rotation and flexing as its snug in that corner but please let me know any concerns before I cut...lol

    The cold side is tricky...

I can cut hole on bottom right of light mount but will need to run a complex s shape to get to the inlet manifold.

An easy alternative would be to go a sharp 90 bend straight away and go up on angle above that mount with a slight S bend to the manifold.

Can I use a rubber 90 bend on the cold side like the below or is that a no no?

Matty will hopefully offer more sound advice but front mount gets fresh cold air which is also pushed through as you drive as opposed to a top mount that has engine heat, etc...

Use appropriate silicon or reinforced hose for boost applications. Grab some elbows from eBay, whatever you do don't get them from autobahn they are like 50% dearer than most other places.

But a top mount is easier and will not get full of mud... There are ups and downs for each application and basically just do whatever is easy or cheaper for you after looking at which you prefer. I went top mount because it was available in a kit and I didn't like the idea of the front mount getting full of mud.
    I would have either though!

Top mounts are ok and that is all. Getting airflow to a top mount is the biggest drama and then it sits directly on top of a heat source. Once the core gets heat soak it's very hard to get it out again therefore making the cooler less efficient. Probably the only real advantage to a top is the path is very short between turbo and manifold.

Front mounts will constantly be seeing cool air in most instances. While the path is a little longer you get the benefit of a muh more efficient item.

But if the front mount is getting full of mud then what gets full of mud if you don't have one......
