Bought one of those moulded plastic mechanics' creepers. Saw it last month and waited until the 20% off was current. Now that I have it, I can't imagine how I have done without it. The oil change was a breeze.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Watch out for them. They bite. A mate of mine has one, I was using it under his cruiser, went under the car to the other side, sweet, went to go back and of corse I got about 2" of skin under my arm caught in the wheel as it rotated around. Holy hell it hurt. Now I'm not a person who bruises easy, but that left a massive bruise.

It is quite comfortable. A hell of a lot better than cold concrete. mudnutette has moved out now, so it will be one of the others that find me. Anyway, the dog likes to crawl under the car and try to lick my face...

I love my creeper. For a bit of peace and quiet I just roll under the car, look around the chassis, contemplate the meaning of life and drop a spanner every now and again so my missus knows that I am still alive and thinks I am doing something to the car - pure undisturbed bliss lol
PS If you ever put your back out, I find that an hour on the creeper under the car is better than any chiropractor appointment I have ever had.
