    The outright best fire pit is a used Cone Crusher mantle from the local quarry, they are made of solid maganese and retain heat real well.
    You can crush rock for a solid 10-12 hour shift and there will still be heat the next morning. I have had to dig one out for about 5 hours mid shift and it was like being in a fernace.

    I doubt it would be free though and it could weigh well over 500kg, but so worth it

    Im installing a brand new quarry, they arent used yet,
    Ask the local quarry if they will sell one, maybe $200, as that is roughly what a scrappy would pay.
    ideally you would want one from around about a 200 ton per hour one as you could put it in a trailer.
    I was eying off one in mackay from one that crushes over 500 t/h, couldnt get the bastard home.
