Mods to my poo troll
Hey guys
I've recently written off one of my patrolssadly it was my ol MQ, Fortunately its insured. so im looking at doing some mods to my other patrol (08 Y61). I thought i would start with Lockers and a lift then move on from there.
I've read quite a few posts about E-Lockers and i think i will go that way (unless someone else can direct me other wise - Advice is welcomed). What i actually got to thinking about though is (unlike my MQ) they haven't put just a random heap of plug holes anywhere in the dash. something i loved about my old car was the 9 slots for aftermarket switches. mines got 1 on the console for your typical rocker switch. I intend to go the full knob head way of having far to many accessories on this thing eventually and i'm looking at were the hell am i going to put all the switches. i sized up the area opposite the hand brake on the center console for a couple (my spotlight switch is already there) but with the big illuminated rockers it would leave little to no meat left down the sides( i would have to cut out the holes with the dremel ), i have three small children and i can already see them climbing over it and snapping it out.
so i was wondering if anyone has done any mods or made up any custom mounting gear, i had thought of getting one of the old nissan terrano dash pieces (had the pitch and yaw gauges in em ) and mod that in to something that can take sorta 8 or more rockers that sits in the middle of the dash, or an over head console and mod that to take the switches. so thoughts would be great.
anyway I'm ranting now so i will make this a quick as possible. If the insurance pays out on my ol girl im basically going to go the whole hog, lockers, lift, roof rack, rooftop camper, awning, chip the motor, metal bullbar and new winch. I want to do as much of this myself so i can document the process to post for others.
