I use a 'mine spec' centre roof mount with LED that is almost as rigid as a steel pole and an old 27 meg HF fibreglass stick that is whippy as of the front bar depending on what I am doing and where I am.

At 40 kph or less who gives a rats how whippy it is and in actual use the whippy flags are easier to spot in the bush anyway.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

I used a black widow sand flag whilst I was driving around the dunes etc around beachport and robe last week. I found it to be extremely flexing to the point it would flex back to my roof rack on the cab when I had the three poles connected. If I only had two poles connected it wasn't too bad. Only thing is it wasn't high enough for legal height for Simpson as it needs to be 3.5 metres above ground

Ps. I have a black widow flag and pole set up if anyone wants to borrow for the Simpson trip. As I can no longer make the trip. I won't be needing it

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Yeh I got a heavy spring and welded a thread off a bolt to it but she flops around a bit so eventually I will source another heavier spring, also don't think we will see too many trees out there I will just leave it off travelling to a from the Simpson.

It's more about the thing standing up and not being so flexible that it hits your cab every time you go over a big bump. It would drive you nuts.

Thats OK then. We have had our flag (3.8m) for years and its a solid with no whip. The only thing wrong is the flag size.
