    Angry Driving me crazy

Troll was going in to limp so ordered a new MAF sensor. Installed new one and car did something different. Instead of going in to full limp mode, going up slight hill in third not hard, boost on about 7psi doing between 60 and 70kms. Lost all guts but revs stayed at about 3000rpm. Pushed foot right down did nothing so I took foot off the right pedal a bit and then it went back to normal. It has Dawes set at a touch over 15psi max. Needle valve set ok(I think) spools up not too quick and not to slow. Catch can in a couple of weeks when I can afford it. Just changed oil and air filter 2 weeks back.
    Any ideas??? Driving me crazy!

O.k two things come to my head straight away. First is the new MAF you got from me, lol, is faulty, not likely but it does happen. Next is you have a boost leak somewhere. You may need to remove the IC and check the underside for oil deposits. This is a tell tale sign of a boost leak.
Also does this new issue, only happen on the same hill, or type of incline? As I had a similar issue a while back, Whilst I could floor it up this hill I wouldn't get limp mode, but if I dragged out 3rd gear whilst the revs were climbing, I would get limp mode. I over came this issue by opening the needle valve (not the dawes) a little until the issue went and I still have good spool up rate.
If you want mate I will post up another MAF for you to try out. I don't mind helping other Patrollers out here as I know how frustrating this shite can be.

    Cheers.
    Mark.

Thanks mate, I will get it coming up a bit quicker and see if it continues. If not does anyone know of a patrol man close to Bathurst?

I would be slowing the spool up rate down by opening the valve. It only needs small adjustments though.
