    Ok. As a high country newby what should I bring.
    We have the basics, food water basic recovery gear.
    What else is critical?

    Yeah I've only been up there as drive through not camping or 4x4-ing. And one second it was perfect sunny with views to kill for, and as we literally turned a corner in a van on the great alpine rd, the weather turned too. Started snowing, temp dropped by 10C in no time and it was time for different clothes and a heater.
