    Patrol Registration Category in NSW

I went today and got a blue slip for my 2009 ST Patrol because I bought it in Queensland and therefore have to do a complete new registration into NSW
When I read the blue slip, I found what I thought was amusing.
The classification of the car is not "Wagon" like it used to be but ........ "Panel van with windows and seats"
I queried the mechanic who did the blue slip and he said "this is the way they come up"
Later in the day, I spoke with the RTA and they confirmed it as being correct. They said this was the classification Nissan applied for when they first brought in this year/model

    Has anyone else seen this?

Wonder Nissan did not rename it the 'Sandman' at the same time.

I suspect the person I spoke with at the RTA wasn't entirely correct. I thought the ADRs and registration classifications were a Federal matter. Anyhow, makes no difference to me. Always wanted a panel van

Our 06 is due for rego and just looked at the papers, it has the code PVF for shape. So guessing that is Panel Van, don't know what the F is.

PVF is Panel Van Four Wheel Drive.
PVS is Panel Van Seats and Windows. vehicle has no 4wd capability.

Could work to your advantage if you were ever in court.

Ahhh, The Sandman Panelvan (has a nice ring to it, hey) I heard you could only use paraffin wax on them.

He even said would be ok if it was a panel van but passenger vehicles have to minimum 35% vlt
