THey just press out. If you have a press then happy days.
If your paying the shop to remove the radius arms, press out the factory bushes and press in the correction bushes and then refit the radius arms i'd argue it would be cheaper to buy and fit the drop boxes!!
These are the boxes i have in the GUIV NISSAN-PATROL-GQ-GU-FORD-MAVERICK-DROP-BOXES-3-6-INCH
There are a couple of cheaper ones now but all are copies of this bloke who made the first direct bolt in jobs. I have fitted superiors to the GQ first and they needed to have a slight cut, the ones in the link were a piece of piss to fit. And you retain the factory bushes which is ideal.
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!
Check out my Toy --> MudRunnerTD's GQ From the Ground Up
The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
i was thinking about getting a 3". i was told i'd also need to buy Extended Sway Bar Link Kit, Extended Brake Lines and Offset Castor Correction Bush Kit. Do i need these.

Skits I would at least be putting it all in if I was you.
I have just finished putting a 2" lift in mine and in order to "future proof" in case I want to go bigger in the future I also invested in adj panhards, come spec draglink and adj sway bar linkages, I went with all Superior Engineering gear in mine. After having it squared up and driving straight my tyre guy recommended whacking in the castor bushes. Now there are mixed reports, some say do it others say dont worry about it but for a 3" I would be whacking them in.
I'm pretty handy with a spanner and a mate of mine has a hoist so where as paying someone to do it, we put the suspension in which I reckon I saved around $1000 in labour alone, so I had more cash to splash on the setup I wanted as opposed to what a local 4wd store / suspension mob might tell you what you need. Now provided I can pin down another mate of mine who I know has a press, I will be whacking in the castor correction bushes as well.
2008 GU ST Bog stock and no smoking barrels!
ok thanks for that,i still havnt decided weather to go for the 2" or 3".
