So what work are they doing??
And what sorta figures are you looking for??

No major work really. Deck, final machine of liners and set protusions. Balance. New valves, pre comps etc. Then see how it goes.
The aim is around 230hp at the treads with drivability important. If I can keep cruising l/100 around the 15l/100 or below ill be happy. If I can't I'll pull fuel out of it until its ok.
Just dropped valve stem seals off and he said 2-4 weeks. They are busy.

That is a long time for a rebuild. But if your not in a rush and your happy with the time frame that's all good then
Thats not a rebuild. Thats machine work. I will be doing final assembly and rechecking all measurments.
Im not fussed with the time frame, as mate will be doing the work (will be looked after money wise) and the guys are flat out with customers that provide constant work. Im just a fill in job.
Plus I need to save money to pay them, and for the turbo, radiator, fuel tank, gauges, etc.

Well. Ill spill the beans.
My plans all week were to go and look at a gu tomorrow. But I just got in my gq that has been parked out the front all week to put it in the driveway, and realised, I love this car. It may have dints and things that make me unhappy, but I feel at home in it.
Just called the gu owner and said its a no go. Full steam ahead in my one and only gq. Happy valentines gq.
