Next thing I did was to take down the roof as I intended to buy a new suspension lift kit and the car wouldn't fit anymore in my garrage.
The roof for the utility vans is modified (I believe because they must have a certain load capacity). The modification consists of installing a fiberglass roof on top of the existing one, which is cut to make more room.
I started by dissasembilng the side panels for rear windows: side_panels.jpg
I dissasembled then the roof light support, the temperature and heading indicator from the front of the roof, the rearwivew mirror and other small things that were attached to the roof. I coud then take down the roof lining/cover (hope this makes sense - my english is not so good especially with technical terms).
Thext on the list was the roof window (it is a bit heavy 10-12 Kilos): roof_window.jpg
Next part was a little bit hard to persuade to come off as it was glued vey well to/through the original roof (fitted throgugh the hole): roof_4.jpgroof_6.jpgroof_5.jpg
Next sep was to take down the external fiberglass roof; it was relatively easy to cut. Unfortunatelly I have no pictures with that operation.
I bought a piece of the metal rooftop from some guy who disassembles old/crashed cars and weld it over the hole in the original roof.
