I have not tried to plug my old one in to test that.
Was not true in my case and same with my brother-in-law. We sprayed his with contact cleaner and it worked for half a day.
Who often do you here of ECU failing because of windscreen leaks?
Don't think I have heard of on yet.
My ECU has had rust stains on it for years and years from river crossings and it hasn't failed yet

Yes a sh!t location 2 have it and if you were 2 get a windscreen leak above it it would probable would fail just like it would probable fail driving your 4b through a river and getting water into the passenger side foot well 1 2 many times *L*

I don't know the story of every other Patrol that was made, it's a pretty common problem considering.
