@ HL its an absolute horse of a knife, sharp as too, just the weight alone would cut meat.
No reason why you couldn't make your own double edged dagger but what for? Do you Hunt?
It just feels right, and real gold plated hilt.

I haven't hunted in years 3D, and even then, I usually only take one knife with me that does all.

As far as making daggers and swords go, for me, it is all about the artisry of the craft. If I was still in the army and in combat, all bets are off.

I just enjoy the craftmanship that there is out there, as the Gil Hibbin Bowie shows. (I will get one...)

next hitch eh, they do medieval re enactments so now you'll need to find a leaf spring off a car and go for it.
next time Im at a shop I'll grab a spring and see how a dagger will come up. OD will be able to make a sheath for it down the track.
if it looked Rustic enough I could see it as a great wall hanger

Was going to buy a Claymore sword, from the guy that made all of the Lord of the Rings weapons, to put behind our family crest. Would love to make one but in the too hard pile at the moment. I have heard about a blacksmithing crowd that hold get-togethers in Perth on Sundays. I plan to go there with OD to check it out. Learn about forging, heat treating etc...

War office has given the go-ahead to purchase said knife. Do you still have the link 3D? The one I found stated that they may not post to Australia...
