You'd need to find a way of securing it because any breath of wind will send it flying.
The awning I have in the back is a SupaPeg one. No guy ropes, it pegs through the foot of the vertical pole.
I used my rear awning on this years snow run on that first night when we arrived at camp and it was howling wind and sleeting. Worked a treat! I was able to cook and eat out of the rain and snow at the back doors.
Didn't stop the cold though!
