    GDay GDay GDay!

GDay, After years of humming and haaaing I'm finally seriously looking for a patrol. Just to do some light beach work and basic tracks. Not looking at crossing the simpson yet I've owned many different Nissan's in the past, but never a 4x4. So I apologize in advance for asking the stupid questions

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am not quite sure what to buy yet, but not really going to rush into anything. Budget will be probably up to about $20,000. Must be a diesel, and seat at least 5 I don't really mind a dual cab, but if it is the wagon then I would probably prefer the rear air con unit for the kiddies. But I'm open to all suggestions. I went a looked over an old GU, '98 that was like $7,500 which looked alright, wasnt modified out the wazzo.

So yeah I wouldnt mind something that I can just pack a lunch, and the family and head off for the day down to the local beach or just do light 4x4 trails with. As I said this will be my first forray into off roading, so have no plans to go wild or insane off road, just want to start exploring some of the area's locally around Central Queensland I know are there, just need to have the right vehicle to get there

I do have a couple of mates that will show me the ropes and basics, which is handy, but being a computer programmer by trade, of course the first place I looked for information was google, and this was the first link.

So feel free to point me in the direction of which threads I should read first, or where to go here to post questions, and thanks again for the warm welcome, appreciate it
