Help needed installing a flip down roof monitor

    Hi guys,

I'm not sure if this has been covered or not - I haven't seen any posts but I am only new to the forum. I have a 99 GU Patrol - 4.5ltr. I have installed a double DIN DVD player and was going to install a roof mount flip down monitor for the kids.

My question relates to how difficult it would be to detach the roof lining to run the wiring and the fitting. Is it as simple as unbolting the handles and seat belts and pulling the roof lining to unclip or is there a few hidden surprises I should be worried about?

Has anyone else done a fitting before that would be able to advise on the simplest option?

    Cheers,
    Paul

If you remove the A pillar mouldings and the centre courtesty light you could use a snake and run wires that way.
Don't forget to pop over to the intros as well just some thing the forum asks of us all

Welcome aboard mate.......... I'm no sparky but pretty sure the monitor would just be fitted to the existing light mount and the power would be used from there. As far as running the other cables, I'd remove the door trim from the bottom and as you said, run the cables up the B pillar. As far as ease goes, couldnt tell you, I own a GQ.
