Get a buffing wheel for your bench grinder, great for polishing bone, wood, brass you name it.
Also found a B/D finger file a great tool as well. I use antique clamps to hold scales in place.
Save your offcuts then you can have multi materials on one side, be a bit wary of brass as it gets hot and melts glue. Pic is of one I wont sell as made it from Billet Damascus bar

This link is for Mosaic pins

Some are used for a lanyard , but like I said finish a knife off nicely,
These ones are very affordable compared to some I've seen

The more I read this thread the more I'm liking it.
I've always liked knives but never really thought of making or collecting.
I've just jumped on the Australian Blade Forum and holly shoit those boys can make a knife.
I've been reading about steel supply. Turns out I'm onto a good thing in the saw Mill.
The blades we use range from 2.5mm to 4.5mm. From reading there a good size.
I have 2 1.5mOd discs 4.5mm thick in storage ready for chopping up, If you guys would like a biting can part Off some.

Quick q on cutting it. I was going to use the 9" grinder. Ya or na??

Also any good links for a beginner is appreciated..
    Cheers

I was going to get the shape cut with my Laser bloke, but its not necessary
You will need to heat treat it later to harden it, so you really need it soft to work,
shape drill holes ect, I cut the shape using 5" grinder, Bench grinder and linisher.
    A 9" grinder is fine.
I'll do another Damascus Knife from scratch soon and you can watch progress,
    maybe a sticking Knife

    Just been watching trollskyy..

    I think I'm hooked..
Loved the basic look. Serenity the prettiest but a cool touch.

Bloody 2 hours on a file. Think I'll be getting a linisher soon. Lol
    Cheers

I use 2 one that doesn't spin that quick and stands on it own,36" x 4"
then I brought another 8" grinder and fitted the linisher to that.
As with an earlier post I have the blue prints for 30" x 1" linisher [Upright]
Cant buy them here, but a must for shaping handles, you might see them on U tube videos.

Is that the big square linisher? Yea they look the biz..

I see someone converted a vertical bandsaw to run a belt..
If you use trollskyy's idea of the angled block to sharpen the blade you can do most things with a vertical sander.
