Danny, welcome aboard mate. What sort of off roading do you do? BFG AT's are a good all rounder, Mickey Thompson STZ could be the way to go depending on what sort of off roading you do........ have a look here http://www.mickeythompsontires.com.a...x.php?page=STZ.

    Good luck and happy hunting

A bit of thick skin and you can survive most things here. I've seen a long time member cop a lot of flak and has better restraint than me. Time will tell.

Wow! I insulted some people enormously with missing the introduction!
Thank you Clunk. I haven't done any offroading yet, but I am planning on doing just the simple stuff. It needs to get me from A to B in national parks on 4wd tracks. In addition, I am planning on a big trip along the complete coast of Australia and I wouldn't mind to go off road.
I am a student, so ideally I want to have good value for money. I saw that the coopers AT have 90.000km warranty (not with offroading) and heard good stories about them. Whats your opinon about them?

I like my Kumho a/ts fairly aggressive but got a good price at around $240 a tyre, and that's for a 285/75/16 too! If you want a pic of the tread let me know.

    Cheers,
    Eric.

I like the aggressive look of the tyres I have at the moment, but in the end its all about functionality (and being a student money). Any idea how many km's the Kumho last for? Thanks!

Coopers will not honour their warranty, they have so many get out of jail cards it's not funny. I've got Maxxis AT700 and they are a good tyre on the road and on the dirt/rock tracks, but not great in mud. Pretty cheap tyre and are performing quite well.
