October/November onwards is prime time for pinkies and snapper.
Squid are starting to spawn.
So there will be plenty of food around.
Have heard reports of 2-4 kg pinkies around Beaumaris, Black Rock, Mordialloc between the 16-18 metre mark.

They swam off ok once they'd cooled down in the sea, so here's hoping they made it past the offshore predators!
