In my case, complacency was a big factor in shaping the course of events. I've always been a switched-on road user, that's how you stay alive as a motorcyclist. But it's quite a few years since I've ridden and clearly my level of competence has declined. Might be time to get a bike on the road again and sharpen up the skills.

I was 15, over in the back paddock of the parents farm. "rally spec" Mazda 929 wagon lol. Too hot into the hairpin bend and hard under (hand) brakes when the front tyre popped lol

Sorry to hear about your accident and has everyone else has stated, you can replace the Patrol. As long as you are OK, that's what is important!
PS, now you too can buy a 3lt Patrol cheaply and join me on the DARK-SIDE by doing an engine swap with a Cummins 5.9lt turbo diesel! lol
