I have a pencil size led light bar that will shine onto winch rope, at the same time the infra red camera will turn on,
this is so I can see if rope is spooling onto drum ok.
The other is basically a reverse camera, I'd like to fire them up first to see where best position is. I don't need it to hook up trailer?
got that down pat but the tow ball seems like a logical focal point. Do you both have it hooked up to reverse or just via an on off switch.

Back pic is of three camera I have the best by far was the number plate style , second was the other infra red with I'll use to watch the winch rope.
The two smaller ones had sections 1,2,3, as a guide the number plate camera only had lines, but that's ok,
Think I can mount the number plate camera above he tow bar on the alloy part of the rear step. I have hooked them up to power so I can try in different positions,
Then try and hook it into my head unit, oh what fun lies ahead

Mine is not hooked up to reverse, no need because it is on all the time that the ignition is on.

Was thinking that,, I have a few spare screens I can use but where is the problem.
If I use the head unit it'll take too long to come on, I'll be parked by then.

@ REX is it instant when you select reverse,
I was going to go through the double din head unit, I'm not sure with
these units if it comes on straight away or do I have to select
    something, which wastes time

Bumped::::::::: been trying different camera positions to get the best view,
found the best spot was on the alloy step directly above the tow bar, it is protected from knocks
by my rear hook, has any one else mounted a camera here, I can pop rivet a piece of flat alloy
on top of step to protect camera better,
