It just seems weird, with the internal fan and all. Will see what Rodney thinks I reckon.

    Motorculture... Let's try this again!

Battery size doesn't affect alternator choice. An alternator with a higher output will run your accessories while still being able to charge your battery. Petrol alternators generally have a higher output as they have to run a spark ignition system. To small of an alternator and your batteries won't be sufficiently charged while running your accessories resulting in flat batteries.

Winnie I cringe every time I see your name pop up in the auto elec thread lol. Go the one from patrol apart at least it is more likely to fit without any issues and easier for you being near that area if you need to take it back etc etc.

I'm thinking that for the same reason mate. Does it make you cringe when I tell you I will change the alternator myself? Haha

Got sick of Motorculture so gone back to Tappa

Very cringe worthy. Just make sure you have an extinguisher handy when doing so.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Five year warranty is a big plus, Winnie. Before buying I would be researching if any forum members have bought from that mob?

Internal fan alternators have been around for ages, that's nothing to worry about.

Both alternators seem similar except for the price.

I think Patrolapart is more likely to look after you if the alternator has problems
