TD42T Turbo Upgrade...

anyone got any idea what sort of turbo would be suitable to upgrade from standard factory on my 99 GU td42t??

is it really worth it?
would an intercooler be more cost effective?
tips or ideas?

hey mate pm nissannewby he has upgraded his and loves it. I have been for a ride in it and it goes very well for diesel! also look at his thread my luxury ride

I was just about to ask this question. I have an old mate who barely knows what a computer looks like is after a stock HT18 set up for his N/A 1990 GQ...LMAO

thanks guys, but not sure I want to do it yet... not overly keen on Garret stuff... not seen any of them more than 5yrs old that don't have issues yet...

What do you want from it bloke? You can get a little more out of the standard setup and get it working a little better but its hard to give you advice without knowing where you want to end up. If your not a fan of garretts than a mitsubishi turbo is really the only other option.

well, to be honest i'm not really sure - more performance would be nice, but not if I have to worry about reliability. actually been thinking today I might go supercharger?? probably ridiculous... need to do more research - the mob that rebuilt my injector pump reckon I can go more on the std turbo too... i'll wait untill intercool her and get her breathing better before I make a call...
