Gotta tell ya .. I like that rack - love the custom wrap around the spotties (bit restrictive to change size, but assume they would do it to whatever spec you had/wanted). That rack with side cages around the perimeter would be top dollar - extra mount at the rear also has to be a bonus for strength/weight distribution.

Would be no good for Jon's GU though, no channel along the back.

For the use that racks get go the Midland Marine one and spend the $$ on some other nice gear.
At the presentation MM also showed us awnings, shovel holders, etc and will even customise racks if you have a specific need.

Spoke to the bloke yet now. once i explained i was with the WPC, he was happy to talk! $800 for the rack with a steel wind deflector, it's meant to be stronger than the tracklander in many ways. sounds good. given that it's essentially a choice between a 5yo steel tracklander and this (the rhino platform gets expensive by the time you add on rails etc), i think the new one is a better bet.

I agree with Paul, think of the new toys that you can get with the money that you will save, but just make sure that you tell your wife that you got the expense one, she will get over it and you get the toys....win win

. I'm gunna buy an awning as well and that'll pretty much do me for now. I could do with a jerry can holder as well, but they seem to be f&#$%S expensive.

So today I went out and bought an ironman awning. I then drove down to midland marine (great fella, very helpful) and got them to drill holes in the new roofrack (for the awning) before i'd even paid for it!

New rack is very nice, good solid bit of kit, but very light as well.

I'll take some pics tomorrow in case anyone is interested.
