I just rang the info line. Kiata is closed at the moment. There is camping permitted away from the designated sites in the west and central areas. And yes it is first in best dressed. We will have to call before hand to find out if any camps or tracks are closed. I asked the question, because you have to book into the parks near my place.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Just the no car seat points in the 80.. I might investigate to pit extension straps on.. it'll be more user friendly for all then..
