Mine is purely for my compressor. Theres already a socket for a fridge back there.
Mudrunner who told you 50mm2 is only good for 50amp. That is way of mate.
Threedogs i will be using double insulated cable. I get it all from work![]()

@ Shaun put me down for some. lol
Jaycay sell junction boxes so you can step down wire size.
Some 4x4 have mini fuse panel at the back to Branch out for other accessories.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
No noone mate, i run 50 amp plugs because they are cheap and a good size with good flow. When i first set up the back of the GQ i ran a decent wire to the back and the Waeco suffered badly from voltage drop as did the compressor. I re ran the wire 3 times each time getting bigger until i was happy with the performance at the back. In Hindsight i think i have 35mm wire not 50mmwas late
70mm wire going to the winch though.
Where do you work mate?

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

I can get jboxs from work to, conduit if i want better insulatiom but not plugs.
Im surprised a 35mm2 cable fits into a 50amp plug.
I ordered 120amp plugs to be on the safe side.
Allowable dc volt drop is 5%. So 0.6v. So im all good.
Threedogs if you where in perth i could get any size cable up to 300mm2 and multicore stuff to. Even fire rated cables
Quick Q, how big is this f'in compressor... My small twin piston 200L/min is only 25A...

Drew. Cheers maye that looks to be the easist. I cant put a power panel in the back there as i have drawers.
Its an arb twin motor compressor with a total draw around 65amp. Each motor is protected by 40Amp fuse. So cable and the fuse to go at the start of the run needs to minumim of 80amp
