G'day folks
I've got a 2005 ZD30 DI Patrol wagon, 5 speed manual, bar work all round, cross country 4x4 intercooler, remapped Safari chip, TaipanXP exhaust and 3" system, manual boost control, boost/EGT gauges, reinforced rear coils, nitrocharger sport coils and shocks, front air locker, Cooper ST Maxx tyres, Outback storage system and cargo barrier, safari snorkel, roof console, VMS navigational system, IPF HIDs, roofrack, DBA slotted discs and TRW pads. 180,000km. Replaced the belt tensioner 2-3 times. Otherwise warped the head twice, once at 130,000 and the next at around 178,000. The first time it was machined the second time replaced. Despite the new head, rodded radiator, new hoses, flushed coolant, she's still running a bit warm. Hoping its going to be the viscous fan hub.
The other issue is brakes. Recently upgraded to TRW pads on the slotted rotors and I find when towing around 2 tonne in the wet, the brakes lock up a bit too readily with not much feel. The vehicle is heavy and I run 43/45psi cold pressures front/rear.
Also looking at an engine TD42 conversion, interested in hearing from those who have converted to a TD42Ti or T. Have looked at the Chevs but I like the relative simplicity of the Nissan engine with a few mods.
Interesting in hearing from anyone about the above items.
cheers
Mike
