I just read this again, i should add, in my GU, that the UHF body/speaker sits in a unused/unseen void in the centre console, so this mod does not actually consume "any" useable storage from the centre console at all, its just wasted space only ever seen from underneath, after the console is removed .

Nice, Can't remember if there is any unused/unseen void under the GQ centre console, I should know as I've pulled it out enough times will have a look once the daily car becomes a project car

Hey that air tank set up you have done is that running anything else??

I just got another compressor and tank today as I am re-doing my rear draws and wanted to set it up right this time.. do you run the compressors via a relay??

Did you not bother with the drainage of the tank??

Would have loved a how to on this mod you have done!!!!!

If you mean a locker ,No (i have a Auto Lokka), i mostly just wanted it for pumping tyres, but having a air blower is a big bonus for many reasons, plus the ability to run air tools i guess (not that id have any with me)

Yes , i run them through a 100AMP Solid State Relay (its a bit of overkill, but it this one i used) ....
    http://search.jaycar.com.au/search?w...elay&view=list

The relay is controlled by a automatic pressure switch, and the pressure switch gets its power from a toggle switch on the centre console, then as a fail safe, the toggle switch only gets power when the IGN is turned to at least ACC position.

This makes it fully automatic once switched on, yet won't run without the key in the IGN (just in case you forget and leave the switch in the on position overnight) also the IGN key then becomes a emergency shut off.

I thought about putting a drain tap under the gaurd, but thought it would just get blocked with mud etc, then i thought about a tap behing the interior trim with a hose i could point/put outside the car.

Then i thought, i already have a hose going outside the car, if i make the outlet take air from the lowest point in the tank, i can always remove any water if collected, all i have to do, is purge the line a little each time just before the first use.

This is the bit I need a diagram for... I am ok if I can see it or if Rodney writes it out in a way I can draw it to paper..... my set up is the same tank as you have with a normal compressor that only has a mechanical pressure switch but I want a electric one.

I am fine with all the plumbing its just the pressure switch and how it works in relation to power switches and so on???

    Yeah I know??

Ive used my "exellent" MS Paint skills to whip up a diagram (ha-ha)

Obviously your Pump has a earth that goes to Earth (the car body)

I ran a seperate Earth wire alongside the Power wire (direct from my AUX Battery), then i connected this earth, and "all" my earths regarding the compressor/s etc, all to the same single factory bolt hole.

Let me know if you can't understand it ?
