Their targeted audience are not serious 4WDers or people who have been doing it for a long time... it's generally people new to it all who don't know any better and think that it's a great bargain! One of my mates is a sucker..... he has been burnt by them before but keeps saying he will buy their stuff.

That is BS and price gouging of the highest order, and I reckon it's about time ARB and TJM realised that the Internet has destroyed their stranglehold on the market. They either adapt or watch their market share dwindle even more.

As for the Roothy/ tigerz 11 shite... I get spammed regularly and just delete the emails.
They have done themselves no favours with the "protest sale" guff... But neither have any of the big players in the industry by ripping people off for the last 20+ years.

If anyone says its not driven by money, and that have "Australia's best interests" at heart, just laugh and walk away.
    It all about COIN.

That's my measly 2 cents on the subject.
    Cheers
I was getting mail from all of that bunch and it was only one of them I was signed up to receive emails from... so I cancelled the lot!!

Shoot themselves in the foot... or I could do it for them....!!!

I have an awning, a roof rack and a winch and they haven't failed me yet.
I know the risks, I maintain em and I use em.
And those three purchases saved me and my family about 2500 bucks as opposed to walking into ARB and plonking down my credit card, and saying "please rip me off"
Each supplier has its merits, and the smart consumer can make up their own mind, without falling for hype and counter-hype.
If my gear fails... I will fix it.
Pretty simple. Screw warranty, I don't need it, so I take the risk.
Other people can do what they want.

Australia can't continue with the isolated island attitude, charging excessive prices for local stuff and denying competition from anywhere else. As in the rest of the big wide world, there's competition and companies must adapt to survive. If the high cost of local products is what people want to pay for the quality, then there would be no market for the cheaper stuff, but that's not the case. If local companies want to compete then they'll need to justify their high costs with high quality otherwise customers are going to see right through it. Local companies need to adapt to the market. And yes I work for a local manufacturer.
The reason people are negative towards the 4wda magazine, tigerz and roo isnt really anything to do with out-sourcing. Its to do with quality control, theres plenty of angry people that have received substandard products and customer service from said brands. But really, i think the things that has got most peoples back up are:
the fact that the magazine has turned into a product brochure but will not admit it.
the mascot roothy constantly shooting his mouth off in a negative fashion (regarding track closures and the protest sale to name a few).
the fact that they treat the regular 4wder as an idiot
the perceived byas of the now removed comparisons
    the diminishing editorial standard
    the recycled stories
the money hungry market based mentality of the emg/4wda/tigerz/roo community
the list goes on. Its been brewing for a while and the latest "banned" stunt has just brought it all to a head.

    Yeah your probably right.
It just sucks that roothy makes things sound like its the end of the world when he has his rants. And in this case it seems to be all over and business as usual.

It was all probably to get people to buy their stuff away from the show and not spend money there. Publicity stunt and it may have worked for them. Ahh well chit happens

I would think most ppl in general would have a good idea if something was up to scratch quality wise.
So that would come under "buyer beware", I'm Like Robbo I'll repair if possible, or even re-make
something if it breaks. Wonder what Bens take on all this is, ,,,,,,,,?????
Makes you think if you can get a free awning for 12 Mags IMO.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
