nah the 1.75 didnt seem too sloppy but i might be used to a diferent level of sloppy haha. i will try 1/2" unc next.

Only metric will fit these beasts. Guessing its 1.25 thread. Like the majority of everything else on the 4bie.

The captive nuts arent part of the vehicle though. They are part of the the bullbar and i cant tell if they are ment to be like that or if they have been added later by someone else. (the bar looks like an arb but has been modified before i got it.)

1.25 would be lucky to go one turn into a course thread.

Ahh bugga. No idea then. Only proper way to know is to either have lots of bolts on hand or use the guage to measure the thread.

What size are the nuts welded to the bar like socket size? If - 3/4 or 19mm spanner is the go for them then the bolt will be half

Ok, the top bolt is the one that nearly fits(goes nearly all the way through the captive nut). It has CM 8.8 on it.
The bottom bolt is the one I got from the shop today. It only goes in the nut one or two turns. It has MF 8.8 on it.
    The captive nuts are 19mm

Bit better picture. The bolts they gave me today (black) have a lot finer thread.
