    Ok you GQueers, how do you make a GU tougher?? Easy! lift and tyres. How do make a GQ tougher?? Not so easy, you need tyres, suspension lift, body lift, GU diffs, GU steering box and for the diesel boys GU injector pump, GU injectors and turbo set up. Yet from a distance if you put a GQ next to a 60 series they look pretty similar so how TUFF can your Q be if it looks like a cruiser???

    A GQ looks as much like a 60 as a GU does a 100

    I will respect your opinion when it's gets a little closer to the truth!
    Why would you suggest that all GQs need a body lift???
    I wait in anticipation to see your GU's build thread stop at just lift and tyres.

    1.I dont use a gu pump on on mine it dosnt supply enough fuel.
    2. I dont need a body lift.
    3. Modifying a GQ to make it tough is as easy as a GU to make tough. A set of tyres and a bit of lift isnt tough. To go tough you still need to redo panhards control arms radius arms etc. Or to go harder 4 links, 5 links etc
    4. A GU steering box also came out on the late model GQ's
    5. there are plenty of tough GQ's without GU diffs.
    6. your GU isnt tough.

    Lucas i didn't say all i just mentioned some mods that are done to Qs. When i do my build apart from lift and tyres i'll probably make it weaker if anything depending on my choice of motor upgrade, coz when you change anything from standard your changing the way it was initially setup so in theory modifications are the weak points unless your upgrades are genuine OEM from a newer model.

    Bene as you know a lift isn't just springs and shocks and when i said lift those components are included. So your saying that early GQ's aren't as tough as the later Q's coz they have are smaller steering box or other heavier duty components that the U's inherited? You do have a turbo yeh ? Do it would naturally need the boost compensator and possibly other components from a GU pump to help it work efficiently right??

    You make me laugh mate, my GU is tough from factory coz ITS A GU! Just coz its not a bush pig doesn't make it any weaker then any other U!

    Maybe we should have another thread for "more capable". Which both series can be with some modifications. As stock on the outisde I probably see it as a GQ being tougher as there is thicker metal and paint around it ...so easy to damage the U's...like tin foil with a spray of crap

    the aftermarket suspension components from quality manufacturers (superior engineering for example) have proven themselves better than nissan except bushes which no one has managed to improve on. give me 1 example of aftermarke suspension parts that are weaker than standard.

    my pump contains aftermarket parts nothing was sourced from a gu

    Go to a wrecker look at the amount go wrecked GQ's to the amount of GU's. Plenty of GU's were harmed to make a tough GQ
