Top install Flemj. Great place for the power, especially when stopped in the campsite. Easy plug in.

For Cbates have a look at Jaycar www.jaycar.com.au or other similar electronics project stores. These guys sell all sorts of jiffy type boxes in all sorts of different sizes. Depending on your needs and where you wanted to place your power panels etc. you could use the entire box or throw the box away and just use the lid. I've done both a couple of times. The lid gives you a good strong plastic surface to mount everything on and then you just install the box or the lid into the car where you want it. The biggest issue generally is clearance between the wiring and the body when you mount it into a panel to ensure nothing shorts out.

I also made a box up with a heap of cig points and other power connectors for when camping. Had a heavy duty lead on the back going straight to the battery and the box was in the tent or the vestible of the tent and all sorts of things like lights, inverters, chargers etc. plugged straight into the box, remotely situated from the car.

    Cherrs,

    Brian.
