I must be the only bloke that doesn't own a mobile. No point if reception is hit and miss. The old mobile used to get signal, if I walked out onto the highway, or sat on the roof, next to the TV antenea.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

A few new members now 2 spots left.
The big fella is still offering freight to the east coast for $25/ winch, and I can deliver to Adelaide for $25, as my family live there...
    2 more to go guys.

G'Day Westy, which winch are you looking at getting and where are you getting it from ?
I have a 12000 lb winch that died a horrible death on its first use, dragging a 120 kg gumtree branch up an embankment
all of 30 ft. The winch has broken two of the three planetary gears and stuffed the hex. drive shaft.
Naturally , of course, there is no answer from the winch flogger or evilbay or paypal. These winchs are sold under a variety of names but all seem to originate from the same place
Can you send me a photo or some details so I can see if they are the same as mine. Email address to please and I will forward some photos of the damage.Bloody lucky that I hadn't bogged the car
and relying on the winch to get me out eh!
The mind is still making contracts that the wallet can't afford
1993 Maverick TD 42 mit einem Turbolader, triple battery setup with 2 twin battery units & solar panel, 21/2 & 3 in exhaust, 5 dash mounted gauges, 55 ltr beier frig/freezer, broken winch, UHF & HF radios hf auto antenna, rooftop tent, portable satellite tv system and the ship hanging on the back [4.2 m runabout with 50 johnson] happy hour

WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries, can and do kill people and damage property and also scare the shit out of people standing next to the car

Righto, it appears to be the winch I have , the only difference is the Dyneema and fairlead. I do not want to rain on anybody's party but if it is the same as mine , which it appears to be, then a long hard think may be in order before you commit to this.
Westy, you're the one that everybody will come after if a winch goes bung. I will look for the names that are used to sell these items and let you know. Various names are used.

Thanks for the concern Jim, but spent a bit of time going threw different companies before settling on these.
And these were by far not the cheapest..
The company has got a pretty good reputation and as mention have supplied some good evidence to back them. I would post it but it has some sorta copy right thing on it.

But yea by all means throw me the aftermath of yours to kallenwestbrook@hotmail.com
