    On ACA australian Flathead $53 a Kg,,, $38 for Flattie fillets, They are called BAY RATS, but boy are they under rated
    04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

    Thats sounds a bit deer mate, 53 bux seriously?? In eden the fish shop had flatty for $7 kg. Fish mungers fillets are only the tails coz they CBF de boning so you loose half the fish.

    everytime i go out on the bay i go for flatties infact i prefur them better to snapper (dont correct me because ive tried both lol) absolutly love my flatties, i got to swan bay for massive lizards
    green 1997 rx 2.8td manual, 2"liftkit with poli air in the rear, bullbar, ipf900 spotties, snorkle, uhf, 145lt longrange tank

    soon to include 3" exhaust, custom psi/pyro gauge inbuilt to the dash and plenty natual pinstriping by the bush

    The bigger they are, the shallower the water needs to be, that's what I've found any way.
    All my big ones have been in the shallows, maybe metre and a half.
    Don't get me wrong there are good specimens out deeper and have caught them. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360261811.619303.jpg
    This one I got in about 2 metres of water near Kirks point.

    Price was right as MOF was here didn't believe myself at first
    Think the real big flatties are Dusky correct me if wrong, I've mainly caught Tiger
    but along time ago now. Mallacoota is Vic Hot spot I think.
    Can't beat a feed of flattie fillets thats for sure.
    Best flattie bait is flattie cubes or it was years ago

    I use pilchard cubes for bait and ground pilchards with anchovies for berley
