Whats the big deal? The report I saw on telly said that some people are 'Outraged' by the burger. I think outraged is an over used word. At least the meat won't be genetically modified, yet...

Might go down to Safeway and see if they still sell roo and have me some for lunch.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
I've had roo sausages and burgers from woolies over here, tasted good to me
To tap, or not to tap: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?
They were patting a skippy while serving up the burgerand the tea toting wowsers and tree huggin hippies got all sensitive about it
IF YA DONT GET STUCK YA AINT TRYIN HARD ENOUGH........OR YA TOOK THE CHICKEN TRACK![]()
WARNING: TOWBALLS USED WITH SNATCHSTRAPS DO KILL!!
All your wild roo are shot by guys that apply for a special roo licence. They must only be head shot only and boxed within a few hrs at a registered box. All boxed animals are tested and butchered according to laws recently changed due to the Russian meat trade stuff up

Sorry Steve, I don't get this post.
My brother in-law enjoys shooting up heroin, what do you think the response would be if he posted this on Facebook?
I enjoying fishing, I don't own a fire arm. Good chance, statements like this could alienated similar people to me.
If farmers don't apply modern farming techniques or listen to what "city people" expect regarding how animals are treated on farms, then I guess yes, there is a good chance these farmers will be come extinct.
As you know from previous conversations, I am defiantly not against gun ownership.
Shooters like 4WDs need to be carefully what they post on public forums that are viewed by a high percentage of "city people".

Been eating Roo off and on all my life and Roo Burgers for over 10 years made from Roo Mince purchased at Woolies for human consumption.
Used to be cheap as but has gotten more expensive as demand has increased ten fold. Woolies now have a range of different Roo cuts available.
The Chef at the Roxby Downs Motel used to do a Roo Tenderloin in Quandong Sauce that was absolutely fantastic tucker
Roo is excellent meat for humans to chew on, almost no fat, high in protien and the other goodies, no hormones or 'roids.
IMHO tastes great BUT it is a gamey meat so people who like strong flavours will love it but peope who like delicate meats may not.
Craziest part of it all is that Roo's being a native macropod do little damage to Oz but Sheep, Cattle, Goats etc cut the guts out of the land so why the Hell we aren't intensively farming them is beyond me.
Finally the absolute horseshyte about only country eating its national animal symbol or whatever really gets up my nose.
Whilst Australians have been eating Roo for 40,000 years, the French have been known to eat the odd chook and various countries around the world have Deer (about 10), Turtles, Swan, Geese, Sheep, Zebra and Gazelle to name a few as national animals and they all get to be the main course on their dinner tables so the tree huggers can just piss off IMHO
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

most peoples opinions are because it has fur its cute and wrong to shoot an innocent animal but because it has scales it is acceptable to kill just rubs me the wrong way being harrassed and chastised for doing so as I was for showing a fox that I shot on Facebook.
Modern farming is the problem. Sheep and cattle don't like being round up by any means to be injected de horned branded and castrated if you don't do that you can't sell the meat.
Don't get me wrong I love animals they all have their place I take what I need and clear feral animals. I'm just saying id rather fresh hunted meat than farmed meat.
