    replacing factory radio/ cd player

gday all. am replacing the factory double din head unit with a single din uhf and stereo. has anyone done this before (sure someone has). do you have photos. mate of mine who is a sparky and pretty handy with this kinda stuff said he can do it for me. just wondering though, does a bracket need to be made or fitted to stop the units moving around. my mate assumes yes but not his type of specialty doing that. anyone who has done this and has photos or ideas is appreciated.
    cheers

I assume a GU is a GU and all the same? On my GUV...

If it's a genuine single din size aftermarket it should bolt up straight to the hardware that held the double din factory unit. At worst you may need to drill a couple of holes.

The factory bracket is a hollow square held into the dash by 4 screws thru flanges on the front... the only challenge may be an appropriate surround or fascia

Facsia is the same, you will need a pocket insert, after market aerpro plug and play wiring harness and an aerial adapter to change from oem to generic and all done, takes half hour or so the change

If your talkin bout the face plate on the double din there CC, along the bottom of the faceplate you will feel 2 slots, use a screwdriver it the slots to pop it out, to easy mate

As mentioned above, when doing a double instal it should fit straight in.
But for future if needed you can buy double din frames from auto barn, repco etc.
