    GU Automatic ZD30 to TD42

alright, I've had a look around for a while and information on this is pretty scarce(apologies if this thread already exists but I couldn't find anything specific)

I currently have a 3.0L automatic GU3. In the future I would like to change out for a TD42.

I know the conversion has been done many times on manual GU's and yes it would probably be simpler to throw in a manual box, clutch, clutch booster, cylinders etc at the same time. However my left ankle and knee are buggered so I prefer to stick to cars with 2 pedals.
Now I read somewhere that in Japan(maybe europe too?) the GU came out with the TD42 in automatic, apparently atleast 1 person has successfully brought in a crated 4.2 set up for the GU auto transmission.

Now my question is this: has anyone seen such a conversion, been involved, heard about etc?
I want to try to assemble some of the limited information together and build a body of information about whether it can be done, how, what parts, contacts and so on.

I have a loan I'm repaying at the moment but in the near future I plan to start putting a wad of cash together to attempt this project. I also have the equipment & stupidity necessary to attempt this myself

I will be keeping an eye on this thread as I am about to start this exact conversion. I have a N/A TD42 black top, which I intend to turbo, and install in my ZD30 auto.

pattywagon I think it is on here has done that conversion. Might be worth sending him a pm for some info. Also patrolapart I think it is have also done it. Just use the ZD30 auto mated to the TD42. It has been done and by what I have read the electrics is the hardest part.

Call PATROLAPART they have done heaps. They will let you know what needs to be done.
They are a great bunch of blokes. They helped me out (over the phone) when I was doing the 2.8 to 4.2 conversion.

Just as a data point - from what I understand, the strongest Patrol auto box is the one behind the CRD motor. Friend put one behind his injected 454 Chev and it is holding up nicely to his rather enthusiastic offroad driving...

I thought I read somewhere that all the auto boxes in GU's were the same, just a few minor differences in electrics etc. I may be wrong.
