    Salvage Yards in Australia???

    How can get contact information on reputable salvage yards?
    I am window shopping for a 4.8L inline 6 and the manual transmission for same.
    I will also need the complete engine wiring harnes and computer.
    Tried internet searches yesterday but only got links in Saudi Arabia.
    I also need sources for buying factory service manuals

    Thanks--Dan

    You have got a good chance of buying straight out of Japan mate, if you can overcome the language barrier then there are heaps of low kms engines available.
    Good luck
    Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!! ....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

    The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

    Yeah Japan or saudi would be the go. The saudi love there 4.8's and there seems to be heaps getting around over there.

    Thanks all. I was favoring the Sauydi's too. Probably less expensive shipping to US.

    I'd be seriously careful about getting a second hand engine out of Saudi (as I Iive here). You never know the history and it might have done 50000kms through 3 summers (@ 50+ C) without an oil change. I'm serious. They are famous for only fixing things when they don't work any more. Maintenance? Why would you do that - it isn't broken yet.

    I might be generalising a bit, but just a few weeks ago I saw a motor stripped at my mechanics from a lexus with exactly that issue. Never changed the oil. Obviously a lot of cars do get serviced but you might not get one of those.

    Sorry, just my 2c worth.

    No Patrol now - Just good memories!
