Been a while since I gave you all an update sorry. Well 5 weeks out from our trip to lake eyre Trollette has been a bit stroppy, blew a gasket out of the carby so had that rebuilt, still not running right so pulled all the plugs and leads and checked them, still not running right so replaced all the vacume hoses, still not running right so finaly gave in and took her to the machanics yesterday... I also have discovered the clutch master cylinder is leaking so ordered a new one of those. I guess it's good to happen now and not halfway through a trip. I am also in the process of making up an awning to come off the back, 6x3 meter canvas tarp, big enough to cover the kitchen and the tent to keep the frost off on the cold nights. I have also fitted tie down points inside to hold down the fridge and storage containers on the bumpy roads. so progress is still moving ahead I'll post up some pics as soon as I'm done cheers. Good looking ride. I have heard that if you throw a turbo on the standard non turbo motor with the higher compression you get quite a bit more performance. I have had both turbo and non turbo Nissans. Never get a non turbo again. It really makes all the difference.

As promised hear is the pics of the awning I have built, very happy with how it turned out. I also put a new 100 amp altinatator in last night too. I have also got it running better, infact the best it has ever run, problem was the auto choke was stuck on.

I have discovered that I have distroyed a front left hub on our recent trip to Lake Eyre, I noticed during the trip that over the the corrugations the hub had started to viabrate engaged and the one time I needed 4wd on the trip it felt like it was kicking in and out. On getting home I pulled it apart and sure enough it has worn the top off the gears inside the hub and hence causing it to slip, awsome! Any way got a set of AVM hubs and stuck them on yesterday, I saw a few threds on here that say they can be a bit dodgy so see how they go but at least I've got 4x4 back. Looks like we have also cracked the front diff housing again, it was cracked when I brought it and we welded it up but looks like it has let go again, not bad but is weeping a little oil. I will have another go at welding it and if that doesn't work might have to look at another housing, but that looks like a lot of work to me bummer.

Got the crack in the front diff welded up today, put enough weld in their to hold the sydney harbour bridge together so hopefully it is fixed for good. Also started mounting the winch
