I bought a cheap flouro vest with glow stuff on it from Red Dot, K Mart or somewhere. It just stays in my truck all wrapped up, nice and clean.
Very handy, just in case. Especially at night.

When I did my patrol medic course (a long time ago now) we were taught that a good first aid kit is good but to look at everything else that we had with us in our packs or vehicles as an extension of it. The Key though in my mind is knowledge there is no point in having the worlds best FA kit if you dont know what to do.
On gloves (you guys in Aussie will love this) in winter where I am we wear polypro gloves in the mornings and if dosn't warm up all day as metal gets to cold to handle without pain and loss of skin on really cold ones espeacilly in the hills
The one thing to remember with a good first aid kit is to keep a check on the consumable items such as ointments, disinfectants, eye washes etc as they do have an expiry date. Check your kit regularly and replace items that may be near or past their use by date.
Because sure as, the day you need it, the stuff won't be any good to you.
