GQ Hi/Low shifter mod, for body lift & crossmember drop
Cutting the floor of your truck to accomodate your shifter will let heat and water/mud into the car, so when i dropped my crossmember it was needed or it wouldn't engage 4LO. I thought I'd share my modification for my HI/LO shifter for anyone to see.
You can always heat the shifter and bend it but since I have body lift and crossmember drop (SWB) I wanted to raise it and correct it cause I think it looks crap squashed in the boot..
A very easy DIY as most of you will know
Ugly squashed boot
Stick out
Cut your lengths and mark your cut
Cut a matching angle
Tac it in place and head to the truck to see if it is the right spot, u will need to reposition it a couple of times..
