    GQ RD2.8T Head??????

Hi does anyone know exactly why GQ 2.8t destroys heads I have one here with a hole in the head just beside a valve. A lot of people say they detonate and destroy the head, but I cant find out exactly why. I have just bought a write off wreck for the engine and it has a brand new head on it and I would like to keep it that way.

    Regards Bob

Is it on number 5 cylinder.
Some say it is due to egr.
    Others due to air pockets
Must be a weak point in the head because almost every one i have ever heard of does number 5 including mine when i bought it and the head was 6 months old.

my gu, same problem.. blocked egr and no problems since... i think the egr on them doesnt close properly and gases keep circulating, and where it enters is right on the no 5 cylinder - so towing on on the higway up hills etc it can get very hot and cracks.
