What else to check whilst the clutch is replaced

The clutch is getting replaced next week with a Safari tuff and was wondering what else I should get checked whilst this is getting done?

Any advice is appreciated to save time and money later on if it can be checked/done at the same time.

I'd rather know about it now and pay for it if there are any other issues...lol

Check the ring gear on the flywheel for wear, a 6 cylinder engine will nearly always stop in one of three spots and if the starter hasn't been engaging properly you will see 3 worn spots on the side of the ring gear.

Replace the rear main oil seal.

the things i would look at are:
flywheel machined
pressure plate
rear main seal
and if the box is being removed, see what access to what mounts you can get at

Hi AB Get the flywheel machined even if it looks good, replace the thrust bearing this should come in the kit .Also replace the spigot bearing.
Check the clutch fork and pivot for wear and replace if in doubt. I Would replace the clutch slave cylinder as it will now be working over an area which could be covered in dirt or sludge and there cheap also check rear main seal,front gearbox seal,rear engine mount U Joints and exhaust mounts. Check ring gear and starter pinion. Make sure all shift boots are in good order.

If you need to borrow my jack and gearbox stand still AB for the task , dont hesitate in asking . its just sitting in the shed. also got a universal input dummy shaft to help align it all up when your putting the new clutch all together .

The seal around the gear lever on top of the gearbox is another thing to look at. Can be done in the car but easier while the gearbox is out.

I would consider replacing the welsh plugs that sit behind the sandwich plate.
Cause I'm guessing that they would be 20 odd years old.
