hi joel . I got an 04 gu and did the exact thing you are thinking of doing . speedo was 4 to 5 kmph slower than true speed . new rubber fitted and now spot on, 100 = 100 kmph and about 400revs less at 100 . win win . done 30 thousand and absolutely no regrets . hope this helps .
