    Unhappy my diesel pump is leaking on my 4.2TD 1991 GQ patrol

    hi guys, i was just wondering how hard it is to change the seals on the diesel pump? and if there's any tricks to doing em?
    what will happen if i keep driving it, or should i not drive it till its fixed???

    Hi mate, the top seal is fairly easy and doesn't require the removal of the pump. The other seals though.....Bit of a pain!

    Whereabouts is it leaking from?

    I drove mine for months with it leaking but It's better to fix it early. Degrease the pump, get it sparkling clean and try to identify which seal is leaking...

    hey AB, it looks like its leakong from the bottom oval shaped plate, that has two bolts in it. its only just started leaking and its not leaking too bad yet.
    It started leaking when one of my mates pumped the diesel primer, would that have cause the seal to go??. ill give it a clean like u said, and just hope its the top one! cheers for your help AB
