    There is a couple of products on the market, I use a CRC one . About $25 from memory http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...39#Description

    What ever you get make sure it does not leave a residue. I bought a MAF a while back for $150 brand new but that was very lucky. I think the're around $250-$300

    Can you clear that up for us.
    K&N Filter=light surging for a week----------> Catch can= bad surging instantly?????
    That correct?

    You could try disconnecting the battery for half and hour, this will reset the ECU.

    Do you have any air leaks at your catch can? did the surging start when the catch can was installed? you could try disconnect the catch can.

    You may need to check for faulty codes. Do you have a mate close by that you could try his MAF sensor in your vehicle?

    was doing this before the catch can instal also no fault codes have come up and don't have any mates with a gu commonrail. also just come back from a diesel specialist MAF could be calibrated to the engine so not sure if you can just swap them over...

    I don't believe that the MAF will be calibrated differently or tuned to a specific engine. I replaced mine twice over five years with the old zd30 and they where just Repair by replacement. Can't imagine that the CRD would be any different. Call Nissan up. May sound obvious or stupid but how is your fuel and filter? All your problems seem to coencide with the filter but does not hurt to check your fuel bowl. Blocked filters can reak havock on fuel injected engines be it petrol or CRD. When was the last filter change? Have you checked for water? Also on the fuel rail is a pressure release valve which could be releaving and building pressure over and over. Maybe rip out the Steinbauer and see if that changes anything, I believe that type of module brings up the fuel pressure to get more in (Don't quote me, just think out aloud). If you where worried about the catch can ( some are too restrictive and will create a high crank case pressure and start pushing oil out through your turbo seals) just pull the hose off the input side of the catch can and let it breathe to atmosphere for a bit. It is illegel to run this way but it will tell you if that is the problem.

    hi how are ya going ... being a mechanic i would not use a K&N filter due to oil in the filter ... it fouls up the MAF sensor .... ive always used a normal non oiled filter
