    Boost Gauge Question.

OK. My boost gauge was installed (by someone else) and it didnt work. I have now replaced it and wired it up myslef. It works. But! I say but! Having been plumbed by the SAID expert, the gauge goes down instead of up. Being it is tapped into the vacuum line. Is this correct? It reads between 15-18 wich is about right. When I rev the engine the pressure drops to 15.
    What is with that?
    I am confused!

NOTE: It is a RaceTech gauge. Electronic type with the sensor under the bonnet.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

There is no vacuum line you can tap into on a ZD30 to get a boost reading, you need to get a fitting welded or brazed onto the intercooler outlet pipe.

15 PSI is atmospheric pressure (well 14.7 nominal) so I am with Tony in that it's maybe not plumbed correctly.

If the sensor is in any small dia rubber tubing on a ZD30 then it sure isn't measuring boost. The ECU boost sensor is on the Intercooler and most people opt to plumb into the Intercooler outlet pipe for aftermarket gauges
