First of all I took off the engine cover. Then looking at the cylinder closest to the firewall I thought it better to take off the rear cooler pipework for better access
Then looking at the wiring that came with the unit I decided to cover the majority of it with some corrugated conduit
This is the before look at the injector wires and plugs
This is the after version with the plugs all wired in
This is the wires going across to the drivers side of the engine bay
Where the module sits
Power to the battery
Module in bag. I need to work out somehow of securing it better than it is now but it'll do for the interim
Being a complete novice this took me a bit over an hour and a half. The only real swearing was when attempting to take the plug off the cylinder closest to the firewall.
For whatever reason there are bulges in the head just where you need to get your hands so you can pull the plug out - all other cylinders didn't have this issue so were a piece of piss. When all the plugs were out I gave them a spray with contact cleaner just to tidy them up as they were pretty much caked in red dust.
Then put all the cooler pipes back on.
Once I figure out the location of the module and securing it I will do that and put the engine cover back on.
Now all I'm doing is enjoying the extra power..............cooooool!!
Cheers

Below is a pic of the lights, you can see the one at the bottom is closer to the grille than the other one. This was because the bar had moved. That has now been realigned (thanks JK) and the lights now line up correctly - haven't got a pic of the result tho
This next one is a pic of the power cables for the chip after I tidies them up
And here is the module itself in it's now permanent position
And here is the Narva CIG point I put in the cargo area
And here are the pockets I put on the doors for the kidlets so they have something to put crap in. These used to hang off the seats but the DVD players will go there from now on
Still need to get the caster bushes in and then align the head and spotlights properly
Cheers

One the first tank of diesel after the power module I did 681klms on 100.46L of diesel.
This gives me 14.75L per 100K. Which is no different to before really. Taking into consideration I gave it a bit of a flogging though I think it's okay. Bruce now churns out some black smoke under load which he did not do before.
On Saturday morning I had the middle muffler removed and replaced with straight pipe and then did a lap between home and Sydney over the weekend. I will get the figures for that tomorrow when I fill up
The only time I can tell the exhaust sounds different is at idle, it is probably different all the time but you can't hear it over the motor and wind noise. So for $70 I'm hoping to get a gain in economy

Did 491 klms with the empty camper trailer in tow between Newcastle and Sydney. Was keeping up with traffic and had the cruise control set at 110 on the F3. This was on 92.56L of diesel which gives us 18.85l per 100K. That is with teh module and the deleted muffler.
Not sure where to go to now but will decide after this weeks normal commute rather than freeway driving. But teh more I drive it the more I reckon if i want to get decent numbers I'm going to have to opt out at 90km/h

Some more fuel numbers from recent travels, which like above aren't the best. Only change from above to the car is putting in a new fuel filter.
First lot was only 205klms on 35.74L of diesel just doing my normal to and from work commute. I got 17.43L per 100klms
Second lot was towing the loaded CT from home to Boggabri. I travelled 397klms on 71.14L of diesel and sticking to 100kmh and I got 17.91L per 100klms
Third lot is backroads between Boggabri and Maleny towing the loaded CT. This too was sticking to 100kmh but whichever direction I travelled seemed to be a headwind. I travelled 566klms on 116.44L of diesel and got 20.57L per 100klms.
Fourth lot is a mix of towing CT and not towing CT. I travelled 375 klms using 65.99L of diesel. This gives me 17.59L per 100klms
Not quite sure what to make of these numbers.......

Got back this arvo from the rest of my road trip. Last two fills are below and are a mix of back roads, and freeway between Maleny QLD and Newcastle NSW all towing the CT and pretty much sticking to 100k speed limit.
Traveled 412klms on 72.80l of diesel which gave me 17.66L per 100klm
Traveled 553klms on 109.17L of diesel which gave me 19.74L per 100klm
So over the 2508klms with the CT in tow for 85% of it I averaged 18.48L per 100 klm
Really with the CT on board I'm happy with those numbers but the thing so far is without the CT the numbers aren't that different. I'm going to take the roof rack off as well to see what that does for me.
Cheers
