Hi David, I too have heard of them being a bit thirsty but most of my intel has come from auto's owners. Not so much from the Manual foke, but maybe they just drive them harder so expect the fuel usage.

Check for water damage.... Best places i have found are under the front seats (where the A/C comes out as you can lift the carpet a bit) and the left rear access panel (beside the door hinge where u remove the screws to change the lights) depending on the size of your hands you can nilly get to the bottom of the well from here. Also the jack and it's mounting plate, check for excessive rust as you put it up a little.
You will find as you start to check these places that the salesman/owner will start to hover closely. You gauge their reaction and see what you think.....

g'day David and welcome aboard mate................ I've also heard they can be a tad thirsty but it doesnt appear to be all of them though which seems a bit odd.

welcome david i have an auto and get 12lts per 100ks on open road and around town 14lts per 100 ks
hope this helps
just got a 8c fuel docket from woolies will go and fill up with vortex diesel
get better fuel economy with premium diesel than standard
