    In Car Digital Video Recorder/DVR and Camera

    Howdy

    Received the Digital DVR today and have done a test video as per below for everyone to have a look at. The product was bought online through Deals Direct out of the US, and cost me $124 delivered (based on the exchange rate on the day). Delivery was pretty quick - 6 working days - and the product itself seems top notch. Works exactly as detailed and extremely easy to use. At the end of the day, it's video quality that is important, and I think the video below speaks for itself - the clarity on High Resolution video (about 50Meg per minute) and the anti-vibration features make for a very clear view of what's being seen from the 'drivers seat' as it were. It takes up to a 32 Gig SDRam card, so to put that in perspective, that's about 10.5 hours of High Resolution video that can be stored on the device.

    Anyways - thought I'd post up the information and a test video for first hand reference for you all. So long as it keeps performing, at this point, I'd have to say I'm extremely pleased with it. Can't wait to use it on the tracks!!!

    The volume might have been low as it was on the other side of the windscreen away from me - that said, the radio was on pretty low also, and it picked it up pretty well ... true test will be if it picks up all my expletives when I'm out unleashing on a track somewhere!!! lol

    That's it mate. For the price, I figured I was looking at retro fitting that reverse camera, but even so, I'll still need some recording device connected that would have to sit on the dash, or in the centre console getting chucked about ...

    Nah..... That thing has taken all the agg right out of it..... I'd be getting one of them before I'd stuff around with anything else for sure.

    Too right - will be clearer again at low speed when wheeling also - the frames per second is set at 50, so the faster I was travelling, there was a very slight "rough" look to the video ... should be awesome for off road work and will slot into our usual videos nicely!!

    Nice clip Scotty..

    Couple questions;

    How does it Mount?
    Can you plug it into the cigarette socket to charge while you film?
    Does it have a screen to review footage or do you have to upload it and then watch?
    What batteries does it use?

    You definitely get what you pay for. AB and myself made the mistake trying to get out of it cheaply.. $50 including postage doesn't really get you much in terms of features and build quality.

    I think I'll save up and get a Go Pro which you can buy various mounts for for all sorts of applications. They come with a hefty price of around $350 though, but the footage is top notch.
